U.S. Standards for Personal Protective Equipment
In the United States of America, personal protective equipment (“PPE”) is addressed in specific OSHA standards for General Industry, Shipyard Employment, Marine Terminals, Longshoring, and Construction.
OSHA requires that many categories of PPE meet or be equivalent to standards developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
For aviation industry, PPE shall further comply with FAA regulations.
